This exclusive MOtM hoodie features page twenty-one (21) of the Aztec codex Borbonicus, a five-hundred-year-old calendrical manuscript, painted by priests shortly before the Spanish conquest (1521). The Borbonicus is perhaps the most vivid and spectacular of all the Aztec manuscripts. The codex depicts calendrical divinations, deities, and the ritual ceremonies prescribed for their invocation. It also shows that the Aztecs used the same 260-day, 360-day, and 365-day calendars as the Maya (Tzolkin, Haab Wayeb). The Borbonicus is also purported to have been used in the New Fire ceremony of 1507 A.D and there prognosticated the decimation of the Aztecs.
