This exquisite Aztec Medicine Skirt features page fourteen (14) of the “Little Book of the Medicinal Herbs of the Indians”, an Aztec herbal manuscript describing the medicinal properties of various plants used by the Aztecs before the Spanish Conquest. This book was translated and illustrated from the original text in 1552. Sadly, the original document is lost. This surviving copy is the first illustrated scientific text of Aztec botany and herbal medicine in the world.
Wearing this you are honoring and exposing the existence of animistic indigenous health & sciences that have been suppressed for over 500-years and participating in the resurrection of indigenous science at a time when modern health technologies threaten human existence.
