Itzamná & the Earth Monster – Women’s 100% Cotton Teeshirt

Size Guide

The Dresden Codex is a Mayan divination tool from the 11th or 12th century A.D. It suffered serious water damage during the bombing of Dresden, Germany, in WWII.

On pages 4 and 5, on the front of this shirt, the face of the Maya creator deity Itzamná emerges from the mouth of the celestial monster. Itzamná is a benevolent deity, appearing in 24 prognostications; 21 of them positive, 1 negative, and 2 unknowns.

The Dresden Codex features a ceremonial calendar of solar and lunar eclipses including precise tables for calculating the movements of Venus and Mars.

It also describes ceremonies for the beginning of the year, a big flood, and a prophecy for a Katun. A Katun is a 20-year-period in the calendar system and is the name of novel one in Mystics of the Maya.
